Meet the Houndhaven Dogs!

Welcome to Houndhaven’s new Meet the Dogs Blog.  We are establishing this blog so that our volunteers can share information about their experiences with the dogs of Houndhaven and you can get to know the dogs’ personalities better.  While we can’t promise that your experiences with our dogs would be just the same as the experiences of our volunteers, we hope that this will be helpful to you in determining which dogs may fit your lifestyle, personality and environment.

 

Houndhaven is a no-kill, not-for-profit animal shelter located in Lake County, Florida.  We rescue primarily labs and golden retrievers (the two most freqently bred dogs in the U.S.), but we have been known to be a safe haven for dogs of all kinds.  We operate entirely on donations and volunteers.  We take in only about a dozen dogs at a time because we like to treat them like our own pets.  We provide whatever they need medically and then find them great homes.  We are very selective about the homes we choose because we believe our dogs deserve nothing but the best.  If you can provide that type of home to one of our dogs, please read our blog and get acquainted with our wonderful dogs.
