MILLY

Meet Milly–a sweet wiggly bundle of love. She is a female black lab that loves people and all the human attention she can get. She’s good with kids. Milly walks very nicely on a leash, is housebroken, and is approximately 6 years old. She doesn’t do well with cats. Animal control found her as a stray before she came to Houndhaven. Milly would do best in a home where someone is with her most of the time because that’s when she is happiest. She weighs in the 75-80 lb. range. She is already spayed and we’ve brought her up to date on vaccines and started her on monthly heartworm prevention (she tested negative for heartworms). To adopt Milly, please review our adoption policies and submit an application.

LANCE

This adorable little nugget of a puppy with the cutest ears is Lance. He’s a 6-9 month old male black lab mix and weighs 36 lbs. Lance gave us a scare—he had parvo, but fortunately it was a mild case and he’s back at the shelter after a few days at our vet and is now feeling fine. He was a stray in northwest Florida, and animal control there told us he’s good with other dogs and great with people. He’s learning how to walk on a leash. We’ve brought Lance up to date on his shots, started him on monthly heartworm prevention and will have him neutered soon. If you’d like a sweet, fun, bouncy pup in your life, review our policies and submit an application to start the process to adopt Lance.

MOLLY & LUNA

Molly and Luna are two sweet Georgia peaches that have made their way down to Florida to find a home. They’re an adorable pair of adult black lab sisters estimated to be 4-5 years old. Luna weighs 62 lbs. and of the two is a bit more animated. Molly weighs 73 lbs. and is calmer. They complement each other perfectly and enjoy doing everything together. They can be very strong on a leash if they catch a scent that they want to follow. Molly and Luna need to be spayed and undergo treatment for heartworms, so they won’t be ready to actually go to a home until July. They must be adopted together, but you will get double the love from these good girls.

PLATO

Precious Plato has had a very rough life.  He has many old bite scars on his face and the very tip of his left ear is missing.  He came to Houndhaven with a BB in his hip, worms, hair loss from fleas and ticks, heartworm positive, very thin, and had an obstruction in his stomach.  Our vet operated and removed a bag filled with dirt and debris and a piece of glass—things he probably ate because this poor baby was starving.  It’s not surprising that he’s just learning what it’s like to be treated with kindness.  No more fleas and ticks or hair loss for this guy and he’s gained weight and looking extremely handsome.  We felt he deserved special attention, so he stayed with a foster family where he had cookie parties and learned that things can be fun and not scary.  Plato came back to the shelter to go through heartworm treatment which has now been completed.  He’s a 6-7 year old yellow lab that was found as a stray at a construction site.  Plato would do best with dogs his size or even as the only dog in the home.  Plato weighs 60 lbs.  He is ready for his furever home.

This girl would love a swimming pool!  You can submit an application now to adopt this sweetheart.
