Rosie is a sweet pitbull mix who was adopted from animal control. Unfortunately, she wasn’t vaccinated for leptospirosis and got sick with it shortly after coming home. Fortunately, she was adopted by wonderful people who did not return her to be euthanized but undertook treatment. She has been in and out of her regular vet’s office and the Veterinary Emergency Clinic for three weeks due to elevated kidney values caused by the lepto virus. We should know soon if she will be able to fully recover or whether she will have chronic kidney failure, but her veterinarian and the folks at VEC are all feeling positive about it because her kidney values are improving with treatment. Obviously, three weeks of treatment is quite expensive, and the folks at VEC felt the owners could use some help. VEC is giving them a discount and HH Helps is paying about half of the VEC bill so that they can continue to treat Rosie until she is better. Please keep sweet Rosie in your prayers AND VACCINATE YOUR DOGS FOR LEPTOSPIROSIS!
